Two single grain whiskies from the same legendary Glasgow distillery, separated by nine years of maturation. Port Dundas closed in 2010 after almost two centuries of whisky production, meaning every remaining cask now represents a finite piece of Scotch whisky history. This duo lets you taste the distillery at two very different stages: the 16-year-old showing a fresher, sweeter and more lively side, while the 25-year-old brings greater depth, maturity and polished oak. Distilled in 2009 at the now-closed Port Dundas Distillery, this 16-year-old Single Grain Scotch Whisky matured in a single hogshead cask. Port Dundas was once one of Scotland’s largest grain distilleries and a major supplier to blended Scotch before closing in 2010. Matured for 16 years, this release offers a classic grain whisky profile of sweetness, soft oak and creamy texture, balanced by a lively, fresh character. Bottled at 50.4% ABV in a 500ml format.
Distilled in 2000 at the now-closed Port Dundas Distillery, this 25-year-old Single Grain Scotch Whisky matured in a single hogshead, developing a rich, creamy and elegant character. Long maturation has brought notes of vanilla, coconut, polished oak and soft spice, while retaining the silky texture associated with well-aged grain whisky. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.7% ABV in a 500ml format, it is a distinctive release from one of Scotland’s historic grain distilleries.
